I have spent a week researching all available synchronisers to keep my WHS in sync with numerous PCs/laptops I have. This was one of the last programs to look at. I couldn't believe how uncluttered the user screen was - many others present a frightening sea of complex left-right actions. Once I had figured out *not* to send file security info from the PC to the WHS (it inhibited data transfer) this worked. Simply, cleanly, and without all that terrifying information about how it is working. The user manual is an example of how to write. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the user interface. This is an excellent program. And unlike some, it does not have an expensive "server edition" - this does work on WHS. Good job.

PA USA - Thursday, July 08, 2010 at 17:15:35 (CDT)Been using SC2000 for several years, through four versions of Windows, including 7 Ultimate. Haven't found anything that compares with the simplicity and utility. The fact that it saves data in a format that does not require additional software to restore it is a big plus. I can readily take my external drive to a completely different PC and view my data and copy it as needed is great!

Nashville, TN USA - Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:23:59 (CDT)SC gets my vote for best utility of all time.
SC is fully deserving of their awards for Best Overall Utility, and their service is second to none. I've used it for years, and the one time I had a problem, their support were fabulous! They doggedly worked with me until the problem was resolved.
The program is dead easy to use, it has loads of terrific options, and is 100% reliable. If you value your personal files, and you don't have a backup solution in place, get an external drive and go no further than Second Copy for the software. It's money well spent.

Really good product. I love the way
it prsesents to me everything that
has changed before proceeding with a
backup. And I love the backup
archiving. One minor complaint - the
process bar shows 100% when
sometimes lengthy actions are still
going on. Maybe the fundamental copy
is complete but the archiving
process is not? I found this timimg
confusing. Othewise really
appreciate the product which I use

have a very simple, clean backup

at 15:46:06 (CDT)I was
testing several backup progs and
this one achieve what everyones
really want from an application of
this kind... 1. very customizable
(choose what you want and back it up
in many different types of back up
flavors, plus other useful options
to choose from) 2. adaptable (simple
as the common user likes and
powerful as the more demanding user
wants) 3. efficient (after first
backup, it just a snap keeping the
last changed files backed up) 4.
effective (instant access to the
data if a original working data
fail) Right now I'm recommending it

maintain a constant trustful backup

with an instant access if anything
goes wrong with the working data. Miguel A Rivera <mickeyuprp.edu>

have been using Second Copy 97
since, well, 1997.... 10 years of
backing up data files. I cannot
remember what I paid for it, but it
is worth it's weight in gold... I am
a fanatic about backing up data. And
it finally paid off with the death
of a hard drive holding 40G of data.
While so many computer users lose a
disk and are unable to recover their
data, or must spend hundreds of
dollars to recover all or some of
their data, I just went and got a
new drive and copied the data from
my backup external drives. SC97
could carry me many more years, but
the "Profile Group" tabs, and the
"source" and "destination" profile
columns are just too helpful to
resist. SC2007 will soon take over
backing up my system. These are
clearly the best applications I have

06:31:05 (CDT)Dear Second
Copy, I first used Second Copy with
Windows 98 and was very satisfied
with its ease of use. Over the years
I’ve used several different backup
programs to safe guard my files with
varying degrees of success. Usually
they work for awhile but when the
time came to restore my critical
files there were always issues where
something was lost. I’ve been a
registered user of Second Copy 7
ever since it came out and with all
the experimentation with other
backup programs I seem to always
come back to your product. Even when
trying out another program I make a
Second Copy backup first, just to be
sure. I guess this is a real
testimony to just how stable and
reliable your program is. No matter
how far I stray I always come back
home to Second Copy. I hope you
continue to upgrade and perfect your
program, and of course never go
away. Thank you for being here, Jack

at 03:08:15 (CST)I learned
about Second Copy from Consumer
Reports magazine. I have tried
vaious back up products and have
always been disappointed. Most of
the backup products create weird
back up folders/files that are hard
to recover. Moreover, most of the
backup products create copies after
copies of backup taking up lots of
drive space. Not so with Second
Copy. With the Exact Copy option
chosen, you have an exact copy of
your working folder at all time
automatically. I back up my working
folders to my NAS with Second Copy
and it works correctly. Now I do not
have to worry about when to back up
my files or restoring my files when
my drive crashes. Excellent product.
Highly recommended. Simon Chandler

NA Ireland - Thursday, August 10,
2006 at 09:56:34 (CDT)I
have been testing Second Copy for
several weeks, vs. another backup
program to use with my NAS drive. I
had an unrelated problem yesterday
that made it necessary for me to do
a system restore on my laptop. I
first loaded my most recent full
drive image backup that I made using
Aprcorn's software, a couple of
weeks ago. That worked perfectly. I
then attempted to restore the
recently updated files using the
other backup software that had been
running throughout. It was a
disaster. It took a horrendous time
for the other porgram to identify
all of the files for each job, and
it only showed files up through its
own install date, even though I know
that the more recent files are on
still the NAS drive, but not
accessable via the program. I
experimented for hours, and I
finally gave up and went to
restoring via Second Copy, using my
profiles that had been running on my
desktop, capturing data from the
laptop. That was the first time I
had tried the Restore process using
Second Copy, and I was stunned by
the speed of the file identification
process, and how nicely it isolated
and presented those files that were
updated or created after my last
full image restoration. I was able
to very quickly and effectively get
all the newer stuff reloaded back to
the laptop. That experience made the
decision for me. I have now loaded a
trial copy of SC on my laptop, and
have purchased a second license.

program that actually delivers what
it promises. Victor Weinrich <vicw926a4>

SC for years and years now -
Upgraded to SC 7 when it became
available and it's become an even
rounder product covering all aspects
of what I need in such an intuitive,
and elgantly simple way. This is a
no fuss tool. What I would really
like to see though, is support for
Chinese character (unicode) files.
These files do not get copied. I
have to use another program for
that. Using SC I have always had
peace of mind but the non copying of
unicode files, for me, and I'm sure
all the other Chinese and unicode
style languages will agree that
peace of mind is not 100% while
these files are not being copied.

Well done on the new version. I
tried a few alternative products
before upgrading. Second Copy's
advantages are the scheduler which
handles overdue backups by running
them when it gets the chance (unlike
XP's task scheduler which just skips
if it can't run a job on time). But
best of all is the file picker to
include or exclude files, with both
a free view and a text box. This is
where other backup utilities fall
down (have you tried
including/excluding files and
folders with XP's built-in backup
utility? - Aaargh!) With Second Copy
it's easy to set up complex patterns
for excluding files. Great. LN

at 11:16:43 (CST)I've used
Second Copy for years and have just
upgraded to "7". All vital files are
backed up in the background. I had a
total crash last year. No big deal!
I installed all programs on a new
harddisk and restored all my data
files from the Second Copy backup.
It took 5 hours and I had everything
up and go. It's just a brilliant
program and the "7" is really fast!

I've been using SecondCopy for years
now, and can't raise it highly
enough. It's one of those (rare)
software utilities that does one
thing, and does it very well. It's
intuitive, easy to use, flexible
within fairly narrow limits, and
just works. Amazing - Microsoft
should have these guys in their
development teams. Oh, and the few
times I've had strange problems,
Support was always ready with help
within twenty four hours, usually
leading to me discovering that I had
misunderstood a configuration
option. I once had a strange bug but
Support found a workaround for me
and passed on the problem I had seen
to their development team for
analysis. That's probably why
SecondCopy is so good - they really
care about what they're doing. My
compliments. Andy Kowalewski <akowalewski@sychip.com>

2005 at 00:01:18 (CDT)I am
a registered user of second copy and
have been using it successfully for
a number of years, without any
problems. One of several uses I find
helpful is to synchronize my laptop
with my desktop when I return from a
trip. Somehow my laptop had its date
changed back one year (probably
because I had been fooling around
with something and forgot to change
it back.) So when I got home some
vital files on the laptop were
apparently lost due to being
overwritten by the desktop's later
date. In despair I decided to study
more about second copy and
discovered (for the first time) the
"archives" folder. And there were my
vital files from the laptop!! Later,
in looking at the log I see where
the saving transfer took place. You
folks should be congratulated in
having a very useful and thoroughly
thought out program. I have
recommended it to others and now

was looking for a backup tool to
replace the software that came
bundled with my "One Touch" external
firewire hard drive. I wanted an
easy to use interface, good
documentation and helpful support,
which Second Copy delivers on. I
compared Second Copy to two other
leading tools, but they lacked an
easy to use interface, and were
hampered by missing or obscure
documentation. The people at
Centered were very helpful and
responsive to my questions about how
their software mirrors folders. With
their help, I was able to setup two
profiles that backup the My
Documents folder as well as one to
backup a data folder used by an
application that stores its data
under its own folder. You do lose
the "One Touch" backup feature of
the drive, but you can tell Second
Copy to run a backup job
periodically. I set mine to run
every 15 or 30 minutes while I am
working.

Over the past 15-20 years I have
tried various backup schemes: a
series of floppies each evening (no
kidding!), tapes, zip files, 2nd IDE
hard drives, external hard drives,
internet backup solutions, etc. The
2nd IDE hard drives are the most
convenient and speedy, but the
software has never been easy to use,
and now the XP platform makes it
difficult to impossible. Second Copy
2000 is the best solution for our
computers. Each box has a second
hard drive, and I have set them to
backup new and modified files every
two hours. Combined with Office auto
backup settings, even if we
accidentally delete a working file,
there is always a backup! When the
software runs it does so without
slowing down our computers, and
doesn't require operator input. It
just quietly creates a backup.
Better yet, I don't have to use
Second Copy to retrieve (restore) a
lost file. I simply drag and drop it
from my backup hard drive and I'm
ready to go. This is a smart, fast,
inexpensive and must-have software.

Second Copy is a great program
and I've always used it. At the same
time I should say that its
preformance is unacceptable and it
missed some good feautures. E.g. I
need to backup the files which from
a PC where those files don't
actually changed but they are being
added or removed. So I have just to
synchronize them rather than check
out that files content has been
changed. So why not implementing a
sort of option: on which basis to
compare files 1) byte to byte 2)
date only (or smth like this).
Anyway thanks a lot for your
outstanding program Artem S. Tashkinov <t.artem@[remove

Perm, Russia - Wednesday, December
10, 2003 at 23:10:40 (EST)I
just read through the comments by
other customers and found a few of
them complaining about infrequent
updates of the secondcopy. I am in
the software development bussiness
and know that a lot of companies
would just rush out their products
without sufficient testing and then
release numerous "updates" or
"patches", which could only cause
potentially problems when costomers
do the upgrades. Some even charge
customers for such minor releases. I
have been using SecondCopy 2000 for
more than three years and found it
very stable and feature rich. There
is no point to have more releases or
updates unless there are some really
great new features I can not imagine
which I believe Centered is working
on :-) Anyway, thanks for such a
great product, which has saved my

happy users. The backups are 100%
reliable and the program never
crashed or slowed down my system!
Sadly enough we haven't seen an
update in quite a while. What I
would like to see included?
Real-Time backup like BackupOnDemand
does including its archive function.
I need that for all my graphics
work. Every time when I save a file

BackupOnDemand will make an archived
copy in my archive folder. This way
I can always go back a few versions

Sydney, NSW Australia - Monday,
August 11, 2003 at 18:06:22 (EDT)I use Second Copy every day! It
is very important for me to have
desktop and laptops synched. Yes,
it's easy to cut and paste with
Windows Explorer but Second Copy
does it all! I set up "profiles" for
each application that I am
transferring over. Like for my court
reporting software, I tell it NOT to
transfer the "litter box" as it's
called in this app. But everything
else it transfers. I have it do an
EXACT copy so it deletes the old
stuff from the laptop and synchs it
exactly with the desktop. It is
WONDERFUL. I have 4 apps: My
Documents, CaseCatalyst,
SearchMaster and Quicken. Since I
tell Quicken to create the backup in
Word, then I just have 3 apps to
transfer. You can see the "log" of
what's it's copying over (and, since
I tell it do to EXACT, what it's
deleting). If you're too scared that
it will mess up (it doesn't), then
tell Second Copy to make a "simple
copy" and not delete the old files.
After you do a backup once, then
it's quick because Second Copy looks
for dates. It doesn't overwrite
stuff just for the sake of copying.
It only acts on it if the last date
it sees is before the date you're
actually doing the backup. SECOND
COPY is a P L E A S U R E!!! ALSO:
their tech support is great. I had a
question and the email response was
quick and to the point.

May 21, 2003 at 03:13:00 (EDT)This is a 'buy and forget'
program. It does what it is supposed
to do, simple and reliable. We have
a small peer to peer network, 15
users. I use SC2k to back up user's
files. Nothing installed on their
systems, just on the file server. I
make the user's '\my documents'
folder shared, read only, passwork
protected. No one else can see their
files, SC can. Transparent and very
fast. And when someone deletes a
vital file "I don't know where it
went!", I can restore it in a few
seconds. I also use it to do weekly
archives of our membership database,
again simple and efficient. As a
non-profit (for Olympic shooting
sports) we can't afford the fancy
high end software. SC doesn't cost
much, and it does what we need it to
do.

to revert to what I had before.
After one of my clients had corrupt
files due to hard drive failure

SecondCopy 2000 and he bought it an

daily! Great program!

16:45:36 (EST)Have searched
high and low for a reliable backup
program that will NOT compress my
data into an unusable format - I've
lost data before due to HD crashes,
etc. I am a photographer/artist with
thousands of images to protect and
Second Copy is the ultimate answer
for me. It backs up my two internal
HDs to my two USB external HDs at
night while I sleep, using the
synchronization option so that the
backup is always the same as the
original. I no longer worry about my
internal drives crashing. I have
tried about a dozen programs and
Second Copy is the ONLY one that
does exactly what I need it to do.
And these people are marvels at
support - I had one glitch which was
my own fault as it turned out, but
my email to their tech support was
answered immediately with the
solution. Further, Second Copy
doesn't employ a bunch of useless
bells and whistles just for the sake
of adding arcane "features" to pad
the code and add to the price. Use
it and sleep well for a change. Konrad Poth <kpoth@bellsouth.net>

Anyone that values their data should
buy this program. It well lives up
to its award of being the "Best
Overall Utility for 2001" (& 2000).
It's the best overall utility I've
ever seen. The program is simple,
and works perfectly (yes, it works
with XP too). There doesn't appear
to be anything else out there quite
like it. I've always used batch
files for doing backups (Xcopy with
the /d date switch) , but I tried
this utility, and it sure looks
good. It runs in the background,
automatically updating backups at
whatever intervals you specify,
which seems a lot more reliable than
having to remember to manually run
the batch file (or whatever backup
scheme you're using). Also, it's
worth noting that if you use Xcopy
to back up a locked file, it will
fail, AND, when this happens, Xcopy
actually deletes the existing
backup. Not good. When Second Copy
tries backing up my locked Outlook
PST, I get a notification: "Second
Copy 2000 - File in use". Unlike
Xcopy, Second Copy does not then
proceed to delete the existing
backup. Much better than a batch
file. Darryl GIttins <ul406@victoria.tc.ca>

10:43:46 (EDT)Hi there :-)
Since some days, I use Second Copy
2000 Build 6.2.0.37 -- it's time for
some comments. First of all: Second
Copy is a really great tool. It does
its job in an efficient, unobtrusive
way. That’s a lot in those times of
marketing ad polluted kernel space
;-) It didn't lie -- it said "Simple
Copy" and does just that. No
"enhanced", proprietary, unreadable,
"special" backup format, which
couldn't be verified with ones one
test suite. Just a plain, straight
copy. I could even use plain
Unix-diff to suit my paranoia ;-) It
does real network backup, i.e. my
target is a linux box with the
samba-CIFS-implementation. FreeBSD
and AIX also work. When I did use
NFS -- and a Windows-NFS-client, of
course --, Second Copy didn't
bother. It just works, if there is a
UNC. Again, plain, boring standard
behaviour. Remark: "Standard" refers
to real standards like ISO or ANSI,
not that "Everyone use it"-blather.
I like boredom in computing. No
upset customer, no whining managers
-- spell that "Dilbert" --, no loss
of data, confidence, money and time.
Wow. Great stuff. That's the way, a
tool should work. A lot of worth,
I've got for a low fee. Of course,
I've purchase a license ;-) Second
Copy made it on my -- pretty small
-- list of "useful tools". I
recommend it for every backup needs
in small to medium homogenous --
i.e. Windows -- environments. Thank
you and keep that good work up ;-)

20:56:09 (EST)I've used
Second copy for personal backups for
over a year and always thought to be
a wonderful bargain. Now that I'm
evaluating for adoption by a client,
I'm discovering several wonderful
new (for me) features: - It can be
run as a service on our Windows 2000
server (and therefore schedule it
for overnight backups while no one
is logged on!) - It preserves the
access controls of the original
files - There's an alternative
naming convention for the past
versions of files that is perfect
for our project needs. (See "Hidden
Options" in the Help file.) Forgive
me if this sounds like a paid
commercial announcement. The fact is
that I'm just a satisfied user
giving praise where praise is due.

Fantastic software. Have been using
2nd copy 97 version, and now am
upgrading to 2000. I use it to
mirror our server to a little used
big drive machine in our print dept.
All pc's have mapping to " The 2nd
Server". If the main server has a
drive crash, power supply problem,
etc. The pc's can start using the
2nd server like NOW. I can
confidently leave the office knowing
that even if we have a " fatal disk
error" on the server, my business
will continue to run without me
there to fix things. Mr fix-it can
now go on holidays. Thanks big time.

backup utilities which new users may
not have. However, I have never
experienced such prompt and detailed
responses from customer support as I
have gotten from
support@centered.com. No "Auto
Reply" and their people actually
READ the body of your e-mail, not
just reply to the subject line with

do. For that alone, I would happily

have been in the computer business
for 20 years and this is the second
time that I have sent a response
expressing extreme satisfaction with
a product. I was using the
synchronization that comes with
Windows 98 to synchronize 2.5G of
data. I had to separate out the
*.mdb files, reboot before running,
reboot after running, do lots of
manual recovery and then it took
about 20 minutes for each
synchronization session. Second Copy
2000 handles everything - including
my PaperPort search index and the
*.mdb files. It saved 1G of space by
allowing me to synchronize the years
worth of data only. And it does the
synchronization in 90 seconds. Its
magic! And I am not using but maybe
20% of the program. Its amazingly
easy to use - I learned how to use
it in about 5 minutes. Good job!

There is no better backup program

Centered Systems, Second

more...it's just fantastic --
intuitive, powerful, and flexible

Thanks!

10:38:38 (EDT) This
software is perfect for my needs! I
have a music server with about 20 GB
of music for the Radio station, and
your software allows me to keep a
HOT standby, always updated (daily)
with the latest music and
commercials for the radio station.
While I also keep a tape backup, in
our business, time is of the
essence, and I'm able to keep my
backup on a hard drive, which in an
emergency could be used directly on
the air. I was especially grateful
that I could download and use a
non-crippled version for several
days to assure myself your product
would fulfill my needs! What I need
is a mirror image, not archive
copies, and this software does it! I
especially appreciate the fact the
the software will delete files from
the backup when they are deleted in
the original. This keeps my backup
from getting bigger than the
original. (The tape supplies my
archive backup!) Again, great
product and I was happy to license
it - its a real value! Don Coleman

Gentlemen! Thank you so much for an
excellent product (Second Copy

getting my Backup function perfect.
There's always a compatibility
problem between software and
hardware, installation or

technical support - I got answers on

heard over and over, congratulations
on a terrific product. However, I am
here to congratulate you on your
outstanding technical support which
is the best I have ever seen.
Recently I sent you an e-mail (on a
Friday night) suggesting some new
features for the next release of
Second Copy. Amazingly enough,
within an hour or so, I received a
response from an actual person, and
it was extremely thorough and
competent and pointed out to me how
to accomplish what I wanted to do
with Second Copy 2000. Now I wish I
had accepted the half-price upgrade
offer which expired a few months ago
and will have to pay the full price
of $29.95 which is still an
amazingly low price for such a
terrific product. Keep up the great
product and the amazing technical
support!!! Thanks, Ron Ron Beall <rbeall@ronbeall.com>

10:07:02 (EDT) As a small
business that provides data
management to Fortune 500 companies
it's important that I have archived
records that I can retrieve. I
started out by using tapes but the
tape drive didn't work well in W98
so I considered CDs. After figuring
out that this would be a manual
process swapping the disks out I
decided on a multiple hard drive
set-up with continual back-up along
with daily, weekly, and monthly
backups as well. I can't remember
where I found your product but I
decided to try it, it was exactly
what I was looking for.
Last Friday night I was
installing a copy of W2K on a
partition of my main drive set up to
accept an operating system. I had
done this many times before but
never w2k and this version had an
altered install routine. I pushed
the install button and watched all
three partitions on my main drive
disappear and reformat before my
eyes, everything was gone. To say I
was panicked was an understatement,
three years of data gone.
After I regrouped I pulled an
all-nighter to reinstall all of the
programs then it was time to restore
the data. Within one hour I had all
data restored and the only thing I
lost was 3 days of e-mail and that
is because I missed backing it up on
a continual and daily basis.
To say
that your product saved my hide is
an understatement, I can't tell
enough people about your great
product. Please keep up the
great development!

Suddenly, right after
having sent a routine msg to a

This is my second entry in
your Guest Book. "Second Copy" has
saved my bacon on a couple of
occasions now. The last was when I
upgraded from MS Office 97 to MS
Office 2000. The upgrade process
went fine - so I thought!-but my
accumulated e-mail lists plus
Address Book entries got corrupted,
and were not recoverable in the new
"Local Settings" or the old
"Applications" folders. However - I
had regular backups saved to a CD-RW
drive, which I copied across,
thereby breathing individuality back
to a rather empty e-mail
application! It has paid for itself
very quickly! Moral: If you are
upgrading - don't download the
latest e-mails from your ISP until
you know things are safe! Michael Shields <mshields@icon.co.za>

Hi, I've used Second Copy for about
a year, (I think).It's a program
that I don't really have much
interation with, (and that's what I
want - I've got enough
super-sophisticated stuff on my

trying to fathom out how it all
works).But since I installed Second
Copy it's saved my bum 3 times. Once
when my 'uncrashable' computer died
because of a power failure and the
other 2 times when I did a mass
update of our business database with
incorrect information.In each case I
was back in business within minutes
- because Second Copy had simply
done what it was supposed to do -
backing up files at the periods I
set. It's great to find a product

fuss and with 100%
reliability.Cheers Denis Baulsom <denisb@c031.aone.net.au>

An efficient program! It
adheres to the principle of "KISS"
(Keep it simple stupid!) I have
recently registered it, and now have
a safely backed up PC system. I have
two seperate hard drives, so I
securely backed up critical data in
my all important "C" partition
(including OS and system files
etc.)to desginated back up folders
in the "E" partition. (Same physical
drive), and also configured slightly
longer term mirror backups in the
"G" partition. (Different physical
drive). So: If "C" needs to be
formatted - I still have backed up
data on "E". If that hard drive
completely fails - I have backed up
data on the other one. All major
cab/set up files
(Win98,IE5,Outlook98), are backed up
on both physical drives. I look
forward to future version
enhancements... Michael Shields <mshields@icon.co.za>

I have been using SC97 for a
while with an LS-120 disk and so far
I'm very pleased with the effects.
The best thing SC offers is to
delete obsolete files from
destination, ie. I do not have to
worry about files that are not in
use anymore and that would just
occupy the space. Very helpful
program. All my files backed up in

I have to put my two cents in. As a
database developer I generally have
files all over the place in various
stages of completion. I keep a Zip
disk in a drive all the time now and
let Second Copy take care of backing

14:47:13 (EDT) Most of our
users save their data on the
network, but we have always had a
problem getting laptop users data
securely backed up. They are out of
the office frequently, and their
machines are usually unavailable at
night, when the scheduled tape
backup runs. This ruled out using a
backup "agent" on the laptops. We
finally found a solution- Second
Copy 97. My users no longer have to
use the briefcase utility to get
their data up to the network, in
fact they don't have to do anything,
or answer any questions! This is
just the way they want it. No error
messages pop up when they are
disconnected from the network, it
simply quietly writes a message into
the log stating that the destination
was not available. I schedule it to
copy when they startup each day (so
when they are on the network, their
data is backed up immediately), and
also to run the copy every 2 hours.
This flexibility is great, thanks
for such a great solution, we bought
a 25 user license.

I cannot possibly express how
impressed I am with Second Copy. It
is fabulous! It meets a need that NO
other software has ever addressed
(and I own LOTS of utilities). It is
so well done that it is absolutely
my favorite utility -- it makes me
feel good all the time just knowing
its there, it makes me feel good
when I interact with it because it
is so incredibly well designed and
solid, and best of all it makes me
feel ecstatic when it saves my bacon
by resuscitating an earlier copy of
a lost file (like it did a few
minutes ago).I wish you all the very
best success with Second Copy.Most
sincerely,-- Scott Scott G. Luther, Chromex Automation

The more I use it, the better I
like it.As a tool for NT replication
(if you want more than one directory
tree replicated - or copied - to, or
from, other servers) it works a
treat. Centered are working on a
version that works as an NT service
- so that it works even when no one
is logged on to the server - to be
released soon(?), but in the
meantime , you can use SRVANY.EXE
from the NT Resource Kit to install
it as a service (if you want to know
how, please feel free to drop me a
line). Richard Charrington <rcharrin@ub.com>

As someone who develops applications
for customers, I have found this
product indispensible. There is
nothing worse than "improving" a
product only to find later that you
really wish you hadn't "fixed" it
and your last backup does not
contain the piece you want back. The
multiple archive feature is
excellent. Second Copy eliminates
any concern for "Oh I should back
this up first". Jeff Mayer <jmayer@primary.net>

Independence, Mo USA I've
been a user of this little beastie
for a few years now. I've also
flogged it to a client or three down
here in the Antipodes. For the small
peer to peer network mob, it's ideal
to use to back up the "server" data
to a workstation...if the "server"
expires, they use the data mirror
image on the workstation and are
back running in no time. For the
bigger bays, it's just the trick for
keeping a mirror image of critical
data (payroll comes to mind) on the
user's workstation ... network goes
down but the punters still get their
cash. Highly recommended ... as our
Pommie mate from the UK says,it will
save your bacon. Bob Bellini <bellini@magna.com.au>
