Log file does not update copied files under certain circumstance
Second Copy 8.0.5.2 build introduced this bug. If you have selected "Copy directly to destination" in the Advanced Properties on the "How?" tab in the 8.0.5.2 build then the log file was not updated with the list of copied files. This bug is now fixed in the 8.0.5.3 build. You can download the latest build from our download page.

Running as a service does not run scheduled profiles under Windows 7 or later versions of Windows
When Second Copy 8 or 9 is set to run as a service under Windows 7 or later, it does not run the scheduled profiles. We are working on a possible solution. We will post the solution at this location as soon as it is available.

Iomega Zip driver gives a file deletion warning message
By default, Second Copy moves deleted files to the Recycle Bin instead of simply deleting them. This allows users to recover old files. If you are backing up to an Iomega Zip drive, their new device driver for Zip drives issues a warning message every time Second Copy tries to send a file to the recycle bin. Unfortunately, Iomega has provided no option to turn off this message.

The workaround for this problem is to turn off sending files to recycle bin in Second Copy. Go to Edit | Options | Copy tab, and unselect "Move deleted files to Recycle Bin" option.

Iomega Zip disk automatically ejects at shutdown
The newer Iomega disk driver ejects the disk at shutdown by default. If you are familiar with editing registry settings you can disable this behavior:

1. Run Regedit from the Start menu

2. This will open the registry editor.

3. Edit the registry setting:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    \Software
    \Iomega Corporation
    \Extensions
and then change the value of "ZipShutdownEject" from 1 to 0.

Occasional system failures with Iomega USB Zip drives
Some users have complained of occasional system failures with Iomega USB Zip drives. This is due to a conflict between the Iomega installed .vxd and a Windows driver. It has been suggested that renaming the Windows version of the driver DRVWQ117.VXD, located in C:\Windows\system\iosubsys can get rid of the problem. You may have to reboot the system twice after renaming the file.

CleanSweep uninstall may delete Second Copy profiles
CleanSweep and other installation monitors can monitor all disk activity during a program's installation. If you are installing some application, say ProgramX, and CleanSweep is monitoring the installation it assumes that all disk activity is related to the ProgramX's installation. If Second Copy is running in the background at the same time and copying files, CleanSweep wrongly assumes that the files copied by Second Copy and updates to the Second Copy profile are also related to ProgramX's installation. Later, if you use ClearnSweep's automatic uninstallation routine to remove ProgramX, it may delete Second Copy profiles and other files.

Solution:
Do not use CleanSweep's automatic uninstall feature (use the manual feature and make sure to skip over any unrelated entries) or exit all other background applications, such as Second Copy, before monitoring ProgramX's installation.

CDs may get corrupted due to buffer underrun errors
CD disks are subject to an error called buffer underrun. It happens when the computer is not supplying data quickly enough to the CD writer for it to record the data properly. The most common causes of buffer underrun are out-of-date drivers or a system that does not meet the minimum requirements for CD burning.
